UNIT I GENERAL CONFLICT


H. Tepotzotlán City Council, State of Mexico.

1.1 What is Conflict or Problem?

  • It is a conflict because according to the definition "Legal" is the situation in which there is a dispute between two parties for breach of an obligation, a right or a rule.
  • This is how it became a conflict when it could be resolved since the other area did not provide the information and therefore to the other area the backlog, this became bigger when the boss asked for explanations from the employees and his boss was angry so much that even the screams came.

1.2 Typology of the Conflict
  • Information Conflict: Because there is a lack of communication between the areas and bad information among the employees, because the Union had already been commissioned for a long time.

1.3 Theories of Conflict
  • Structuralist theory: The conflict has its origins in the social structure. Since there is no good organization and communication

1.4 Conflict process
  • Stage 1 "Potential opposition or incompatibility"
Communication: There was no communication between the areas to have the work on time
Structure: The trustee did not have to shout, despite her hierarchy in the town hall
  • Stage 2 "Cognition and perzonalization"
>Perceived Conflict: The trustee has no leadership to direct their employees.
  • Stage 3 "Intentions"
> The employees did not intend that the trustee will shout at them just because they did not inform him that the President had spoken to them
  • Stage 4 "Behavior"
>Behavior of the parties: The trustee shouted and gave no solution to the conflict, he only told his employees that they would solve it.
  • Stage 5 "Results"
>Lower performance in the delivery of reports and shouts.

Reflection: 

In this unit I learned to identify the difference between conflict and problem, the different typologies and theories of conflict that exist, as well as the processes of conflict at each stage.


At work it was possible to observe how from a bad communication the conflict began, this could have been avoided and did not reach the screams.
